What are Anti-Wrinkle Injections?
Anti-wrinkle injections are a non-surgical cosmetic procedure that help to reduce and prevent unwanted facial wrinkles. This is achieved by administering a very small dose of muscle relaxant protein via a very fine needle just under the skin.
What does the treatment involve?
The procedure takes around 10 minutes. During the process, you will be asked to raise your eyebrows, frown, and squint your eyes to mark out the unwanted lines on your face. Using very fine needles, a very small amount of muscle relaxant is injected into the target muscle. The injection may sting for a couple of seconds and normal activities can be resumed immediately after.
It takes 2-3 days for the injections to begin working and up to 14 days to see the full results.
How many treatments will I need?
One treatment approximately every three to four months.
How long will the results last?
The desired effects and adverse effects of muscle relaxants are not permanent.
The effects from muscle relaxants last up to 3-4 months however this may be for a longer or shorter period depending on the individual. After this time muscle activity will resume and re-treatment is required.
What does the treatment cost?
The cost of treatment varies depending on the area treated, the patient’s muscle size and subsequent muscle strength. For these reasons it is difficult to give an exact quote over the phone for muscle relaxant treatments as the injector will need to assess each patient after viewing their muscle activity and discussing their desired result.
Our price for anti-wrinkle injections is $3.90/unit (minimum spend of $100 per treatment). For a personalised quote we recommend that you book a complimentary consultation with one of our Registered Nurses.

Anti-wrinkle injections are not suitable to have while pregnant or nursing.
Pre and Post care information
Avoid anti-inflammatory/blood thinning medications if possible for a period of 2 weeks before treatment. Medications and supplements such as aspirin, vitamin E, green tea, ginkgo biloba, ginseng, St. John’s Wort, Omega 3/Fish Oil supplements, Ibuprofen and NSAIDS have a blood thinning effect and can increase the risk of bruising and swelling after injections.
Do not rub or massage the injected area for the first 24 hours after treatment. It is also important not to allow any direct pressure on the area such as sleeping on the face or face-down massage, extreme temperature changes, strenuous exercise, exposure to prolonged sunlight, and excessive alcohol use in the 24 hours after treatment.
